Day 1:

Today you should make your way to Plymouth in time to catch the mid afternoon ferry to Santander. Relaxing on board you can start your holiday and use the ships facilities that include, bars, restaurants, cafes and the cinema, or the seated viewing areas around the ship.

Day 2:

We arrive after lunch in Santander and journey down to Burgos for our first overnight stay. The hotel here has been used by Missed Adventures over many years and has secure overnight parking. It is also well positioned for the centre and is within easy walking distance of it’s many bars and restaurants.

Day 3:

Following a relaxed breakfast, we leave Burgos and make our way south over the open plains towards the Segovia region. We will cover some free motorway for the first hour of the journey to our first coffee stop, but after this the use of motorways will finish. On route we will travel via Segovia, which boasts probably the best-preserved Roman aqueduct in Europe. This is a stunning site and well worth a visit and it was in daily use until only a few years ago. We end the day in the Castile and León region and our hotel, for the evening.

Day 4:

A fabulous ride today through the Sierra’s west of Madrid and a route that everyone enjoys. No description or picture can give any justice to the wonderful panoramic views afforded this morning. The quality of the roads and the number of switchbacks and turns make this an absolute must do for any motorcyclist. We end the day in the extremadura region and a beautiful hotel used by Missed Adventures for many years now.

Day 5:

Leaving the hotel today we head west towards Portugal and more stunning scenery on route. We have a regular lake side coffee stop before eventually crossing the border and climbing to our hotel at the foot of the mountainous, Serra Estrela national park.

Day 6:

Today we head through the wonderful Serra da Estrela National Park with it’s mind blowing roads and beautiful scenery. We finally descend to the beautiful Duoro river valley before continuing across country to Braga and our lovely hotel for the evening. The ride today covers areas with some of northern Portugal’s most beautiful scenery and it will certainly not disappoint you.

Day 7:

Our journey today takes us north towards the port city of Vigo. After crossing the ‘Rande river bridge’ and the border back in to Spain we continue towards Vigo. Using national routes after Vigo we head towards Santiago and then on towards the Galician coastline were we have a lovely 3* hotel set close to the beach for a two night stay.

Day 8:

Today is a free day and for those that wish, we can travel light on the bike during any ride out and leave the luggage behind at the hotel.
For those wanting a day off the bike there is plenty to offer here and you can relax in and around the beautiful coastal environment situated on your doorstep from the hotel.

Day 9:

A truly stunning ride today will see us head south and then east through magnificent scenery, in fabulous mountain terrain. We head in to Asturias and it’s capital Oviedo. Here there is a fabulous mix of the old town area and state of the art new buildings and this university-city is a great place for an overnight stay. Cider is well renowned here as being the favoured drink during an evening out and it is also used in many recipes from the region. There is a very unique way of pouring it from the bottle, which has to be seen. Oviedo is a lovely city and it will definitely not disappoint you.

Day 10:

Remaining on national routes today we head for the beautiful Picos De Europa and it’s wonderful biking roads. The majority of our day is spent in the national park and we finish just outside Potes, where we have another wonderful hotel for our second, two night stay.

Day 11:

As a free day, those that wish can travel light on the bike during any ride out and leave the luggage behind at the hotel. For those wanting a day off the bike, the hotel has a wonderful tranquil environment to relax in. It is very peaceful, has it’s own swimming pool and is within 10 minutes of the centre of Potes.

Day 12:

Leaving the Picos after breakfast we will begin on national routes before joining the motorway and heading for Bilbao. We remain on the motorway until just after the French border and near Bayonne we will exit the peage and travel via national routes to our hotel. Using these national routes through the Landes region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, we make our way to Cestas, just south of Bordeaux for our overnight stay.

Day 13:

Today, after circumnavigating Bordeaux we will return to national routes as we make our way north through the regions of Landes, Charente, Charente maritime and Vende. Coffee stops and lunch will be taken as normal on route and we will end the day in La Roche sur-yon for our final overnight hotel of the tour.

Day 14:

Leaving La Roche sur-yon after breakfast, we continue north remaining on national routes and through the beautiful French countryside. We head to the Loire river
and cross this famous landmark, before heading on towards Cherbourg and our ferry back to the UK.

Day 15:

Our ferry docks back in the UK on Sunday leaving everyone refreshed for their journey home and a chance to look back on the photographs after a truly memorable holiday tour.
