Day 1:

Today you should make your way to Portsmouth in time to catch the evening ferry to Santander. Relaxing on board you can start your holiday and use the ships facilities that include, bars, restaurants, cafes and the cinema, or the seated viewing areas around the ship.

Day 2:

Arriving just after lunch in Santander you journey down to Burgos for the first overnight stay. The hotel here has been used by Missed Adventures over many years and has secure overnight parking. It is also well positioned for the centre and is within easy walking distance of it’s many bars and restaurants.

Day 3:

Following a relaxed breakfast, you leave Burgos behind and make your way south over the open plains towards the Segovia region. The route covers toll free motorway for the first hour of the journey to the first coffee stop, but after this the use of motorways will end. On route you will travel via Segovia, which boasts probably the best-preserved Roman aqueduct in Europe. This is a stunning site and well worth a visit and it was in daily use until only a few years ago. Ending the day in the Castile and León region, you have a wonderful hotel for the evening.

Day 4:

A fabulous ride today through the Sierra’s west of Madrid and a route that everyone enjoys. No description or picture can give any justice to the wonderful panoramic views afforded this morning. The quality of the roads and the number of switchbacks and turns make this an absolute must do for any motorcyclist. You end your day in the extremadura region and a beautiful hotel used by Missed Adventures for many years now.

Day 5:

Leaving the hotel today and heading west towards Portugal with more stunning scenery and excellent routes. You have a regular lake side coffee stop on route for lunch, before eventually crossing the border and climbing to the hotel at the foot of the mountainous, Serra Estrela national park.

Day 6:

Today is a free day and for those that wish, you can travel light on the bike for the provided ride out and leave all your luggage behind at the hotel.
For those wanting a day off the bike, you have time to savour the surroundings after breakfast and watch the world go by. You can take a relaxing wander around the town and there is easy access to coffee shops, bars and restaurants which are situated right on the doorstep of your hotel.

Day 7:

Today you head through the wonderful Serra da Estrela National Park with it’s mind blowing roads and beautiful scenery. You finally descend to the beautiful Duoro river valley, before continuing across country to Braga and your lovely hotel for the evening. The ride today covers areas with some of northern Portugal’s most beautiful scenery and it will certainly not disappoint you.

Day 8:

Your journey today takes you north towards the port city of Vigo. After crossing the ‘Rande river bridge’ and the border back in to Spain, you continue on towards Vigo. Using national routes after Vigo and heading on past Santiago, you have a final run towards the Galician coastline, where you have a lovely 3* hotel set close to the beach for your overnight stay.

Day 9:

A truly stunning ride today will see you heading south and then east through magnificent scenery, in fabulous mountain terrain. Heading in to Asturias and it’s capital Oviedo for your hotel. There is a fabulous mix of the old town area and state of the art new buildings and this university-city is a great place for an overnight stay. Cider is a well renowned and popular drink here and it is also used in many recipes from the region. There is also a very unique way of pouring it from the bottle, which has to be seen. Oviedo is a lovely city and it will definitely not disappoint you.

Day 10:

Remaining on national routes today you head for the beautiful Picos De Europa and it’s wonderful biking roads. The majority of the day is spent riding in the national park and will finish just outside Potes, where you have another wonderful hotel for the second, two night stay of the trip.

Day 11:

As a free day, those that wish can travel light on the bike during the provided ride out route and leave the luggage behind at the hotel. For those wanting a day off the bike, the hotel has a wonderful tranquil environment to relax in. It is very peaceful, has it’s own swimming pool and is within 10 minutes of the centre of Potes for anyone wanting to explore.

Day 12:

Leaving the Picos after breakfast your journey begins on national routes before joining the motorway and a final run in to Santander for the afternoon ferry home.

Day 13:

The ferry docks back in Plymouth by mid afternoon leaving everyone refreshed for their journey home and a chance to look back on the photographs after a truly memorable holiday tour.
