Don't take our word for it, here is what our customers think of us...

Bruce from Falkirk

The Mighty Alps and Dolomites 2018

Just got back from a great trip with Phil and a great bunch of blokes from all over, my second trip with Missed Adventures and having done a bit of travelling on the bike myself, I know how much planning goes into these trips and Phil makes it all look so easy.

His style is professional, but so relaxed and nothing seems to be a problem, even when things don’t go to plan as is sometimes the case.

He looks after everyone regardless of their riding experience or abilities.

The trip was excellent for the roads and the passes covered, a couple of which I’d not been on before, .. most of the passes were on a must do for people who want to ride in the Alps and Dolomites, the Dolomites being especially stunning and the Stelvio all that I remember from years past.

The hotels were all very good for parking and comfort, some excellent in facilities that were offered, all were reasonably close to bars and eateries, just perfect after a good day on the bike when you need to stretch the legs.

On this particular trip, it was single riders and he tailored the riding to suit, but on the previous tour, there were
several couples and he ensured that everyone is supported regardless of their pace with his rider drop off system.

Already looking at next years trips and thinking about joining up for another great “run on the bike”.

Adrian from Sussex

The Mighty Alps and Dolomites 2018

This was my second tour with Missed Adventures, following on from a trip to the West coast of Scotland in October 2017.

Phil is a friendly host and a patient and knowledgeable tour leader – he knows the best routes and keeps the mileage down each day to allow plenty of time for frequent coffee breaks, lunch and evening socialising.
For a biker who has spent many years travelling around Europe independently, it was very relaxing not having to worry about what roads/routes to take, booking the right sort of accommodation and the best places to eat.
This tour was the perfect biking holiday with beautiful scenery, spectacular mountain passes, countless bends to negotiate,
good company, some great hotels and good food.

Paul from Exeter

The Mighty Alps and Dolomites 2018

My first professionally managed European tour and I was so impressed with the way Phil took all the hassle out of the trip.

I’ve been to Europe with ‘back of an envelope’ planning and it is only when you have seen what can go wrong, that you can appreciate good organisation.

The hotels we stayed in were of a really high standard.

There is no way I could have booked accommodation of that level, for that price.

Phil was known at all the stops and he always ensured we got the best attention.

Some of the breakfasts were quite extraordinary.

Learn to like cake early in the morning to get the best from this tour.

The biking was everything you could wish for and more with all the major passes in one hit.

I think we all came back more confident riders, after going on some fairly challenging roads in
very variable conditions.

Phil’s navigational skills and encyclopaedic knowledge of Europe’s highways and byways kept us going when the unexpected happened and the term ‘knife through butter’ could have been invented to describe his enhanced filtering skills.

Getting through 5 miles of jams round Brussels, without putting a foot down, says it all.

Overall, a tremendous 12 days biking, in terrific company.

Never a dull moment.
Roll on the next one.

Adam from High Wycombe

The Mighty Alps and Dolomites 2018

Can i firstly express my gratitude in the way you looked after us all on the Alps and Dolomite’s tour.

As a European tour virgin, i feel i must pay homage to you for all your patience and guidance throughout the 12 days of a truly amazing experience.

All the routes we went on were spectacular, the beautiful places we stopped in for coffee, the hotels, which far exceeded my expectations and the way it was meticulously planned by yourself, all made the trip a truly mesmerising insight into touring.

I think i can speak for the rest of our group when i say, that the attention to detail that you put into the trip to ensure people will remember it for a very long time, was second to none.

I feel we can all now call you a friend and i know we will all do more tours with you in the future.

Again many thanks for a brilliant time.

Mark and Jackie from Hampshire

2018 Black Forest, The Mosel & Rhine valley’s, Hunsruck National Park & Vosges

This was our third tour with Phil: Germany Motorcycle Tour, having previously undertaken the Basque Pyrenees Tour de France and Northern Spain & Portugal tours.

These trips have been undertaken with an enthusiastic pillion who was surprised at the high quality of the accommodation which also provided secure parking.

The scenery on the Spanish tours was stunning.

During the day sat nav routes are provided to allow for doing your own thing as an alternative to staying with the group.

The routes provide for a variety of conditions, but none too technical.

Phil is a great host and tour leader with a high degree of local knowledge, which manifests itself in the choice restaurants and bars visited in the evenings.

The starting point of these tours allows for flexibility on your choice of ferry or train.

We added an additional number of nights on two of these tours.

Tony from Derbyshire

2018 Garmisch, Austrian Alps & Black Forest tour

Just dropping you a line to say thanks again for a great trip to Garmisch Partenkirchen, BMW Motorrad event and Austrian Alps.

My third trip with you now and I’ll be booking for the Spain and Portugal trip in 2019.

Again great routes, accommodation, food and most importantly, like minded people riding bikes and lovin it.

Colin from Caithness

2018 Black Forest, The Mosel & Rhine valley’s, Hunsruck National Park & Vosges

My thought’s of the trip – an excellent and well organised tour, with excellent hotels, locations and company.

Some routes were long and made a little harder with the hot, hot weather!

I thought this trip was excellent value and delighted to have made new friendships.

Jon from West Midlands

2018 Black Forest, The Mosel & Rhine valley’s, Hunsruck National Park & Vosges

Professional is an overused word these days, however in the case of Phil and Missed Adventures, it is an understatement.

My first guided tour and European motorcycle trip so my nerves were jangling, but Phil’s attention to detail, perfect planning and sympathetic daily itinerary made it a trip of a lifetime.

Perfect hotels, good food, combined with a fantastic group of like minded motorcycle riders put me at ease from the get go.

There was not one part of the trip that was not planned perfectly, from wonderful coffee and cake stops, knowing where the petrol stations were located on route and a wonderful evening meal readily booked on our arrival.

All my concerns drifted away and I quickly relaxed into the riding, with a wonderful combination of roads and the
flexibility to accommodate requested route changes, such as to visit the Nurburgring.

Phil’s passion for riding and the well being of his customers came across in spades.

I sit at home writing this whilst deciding which will be my next trip with Missed Adventures.

For me a life changing trip.

Many thanks Phil and Missed Adventures.

Rick from Southport

2018 Basque country and Pyrenees tour

This was my first European adventure so there was quite a lot I was nervous about.

Phil did a great job at putting my mind at ease and kept in touch in the months and weeks leading up to the tour with plenty of advice and tips.

On tour Phil proved to be an excellent guide, who rode at a good but sensible pace.

Riders who wanted to go slower and take in more photo opportunities were free to drop off from the back of the group and thanks to detailed GPX routes, we never had a problem meeting up again along the way to the hotels.

The Basque countryside is stunning, with lovely roads and virtually no traffic.

The main attraction was of course the mountain passes of the Pyrenees and coming over Col du Tourmalet and down into the French countryside was a real highlight of the tour.

Some tours are focused on doing crazy mileage, but this was quite laid back with plenty of opportunities to stop for coffee/photos.

A couple of shorter days were thrown in in the second half of the tour to enable us to enjoy some more social time.

The atmosphere where we stayed for the ‘John the Baptist day’ celebrations on the Saturday was amazing.

The tour had a really great group of people most of whom had toured with Phil before, clearly a testament in itself.

We had a good mix of bikes and everyone was allowed to ride at their own pace.

Special mention also to the hotels, which were all first rate and had secure parking.

I would definitely ride with Missed Adventures again and have no hesitation in recommending them.

Jeremy from Hampshire

2018 Garmisch, Austrian Alps & Black Forest tour

I have just returned from my second tour with Phil and Missed Adventures having been on the Garmisch and Black forest trip.

I had a great 12 days riding through 8 different countries, superb scenery, incredible mountain passes and of course the B500, Black Forest high street as its known!

Phil’s choice of hotels was once again spot on, many with pools and spas, and one even had 4 bowling alleys in the basement!

The 2 day stop at Garmisch for the BMW event was also very enjoyable, even though I am a huge KTM fan and owner!

Phil’s attention to detail and commitment to make sure everyone in the group have the best time possible is first class.

I enjoyed the trip so much that I have booked the Spanish Picos and Portugal trip for later in the year.

If you are humming and harring whether to book your motorcycle adventure with Missed adventures, don’t hesitate, just give Phil a call now, you will not regret it.

Denis from Leamington Spa

2018 Basque country and Pyrenees tour

“I joined Phil’s Basques & Pyrenees Tour in 2018 and enjoyed everything about it:

from the variety of routes through stunning scenery and some fantastic mountain roads;

lovely Spanish towns & villages; and the camaraderie in the group.

Where this tour differs from others I’ve been on is that it felt like a family affair with many people having been with Phil before – testimony in itself – and the emphasis shifted from the riding towards more social time as the week progressed, which was nice.

All-in-all, a refreshing change to tour this way and a very pleasant experience.

I look forward to riding with Phil again.”

Mike from South Wales

2018 Basque country and Pyrenees tour

I’ve just returned from my fourth tour with Phil and my second Basques/Pyrenees tour.

Spectacular views in the mountains, twisting roads, colourful buildings in the villages, relaxing coffee and lunch stops, vast areas of agricultural land, lakes, rivers, cloud-scapes, waterproofs didn’t leave the panniers and at the end of each day’s riding an excellent hotel.

The highlight for me this year was the route over the Tour De France cols and then descending to roads running through beautiful, unspoilt French villages.

I frequently drifted off from the back of the group so that at my own pace I could better take in the countryside, stop for photos and be more aware of details such as the striking aromas in woodland sections and from roadside plants.

With the aid of a decent satnav – loaded with each day’s routes (plus co-ordinates for each hotel as a fallback position) – there is no stress in travelling alone.

Having toured with other companies, I’ m convinced that Missed Adventures has more to offer than most.

On each of my tours with Phil, a majority of the riders were “returning customers” so at times it was like a gathering of old friends.

Phil’s choice of routes and hotels is first-rate and for those of us with no second language (i.e. nearly everyone) Phil’s command of Spanish is reassuring.

The Brittany ferry is clean and efficient with compact but good en-suite cabins.

Of course, it’s the friendliness and warmth of the people that make the holiday complete.

The Basque people are approachable and friendly (just make a token effort with “hola”, “por favor” and “gracias” and they’ll immediately forgive your linguistic incompetence).

There was great rapport and warmth amongst this group and Phil is keen for everyone to have an enjoyable holiday.

It’s no surprise that he has such a loyal following.

Steve from Hampshire

2018 Basque country and Pyrenees tour

This was my first time with Missed Adventures and it will not be my last.

I chose to make my own way through France rather than catch the ferry and meet up with the group at the first nights
hotel in Spain.
From the start it was obviously a really nice group of people who shared common interest.
Phil is a brilliant host and made
everyone feel included and took time to talk with everyone.
I was pleasantly surprised by the good choice of hotels.

I have found some rather poor accommodation with other tours that I have been on, but Phil has been at this for some time
and it shows in the choice of his hotels.

Secure parking is a must and this was provided everywhere we went.

The routes were well thought out and while not technically difficult gave a great deal of pleasure in being challenging.

Phil rides at a good speed, but keeps it inclusive to the whole group.

The local knowledge was excellent which showed in the restaurants and bars that we were introduced to.

Having been on several other tours this has been the best organised and what’s more important, most enjoyable tour to date.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Missed Adventures to anyone, from first timers to seasoned motorcyclists.

John and Ruth from Oxford

2018 Northern & Central areas of Spain

This was our first motorcycle touring trip to anywhere, we were complete Rookies and knew nothing of the procedures of touring abroad’,

Thanks to Phil from Missed Adventures with all his meticulous planning and knowledge this tour was an an absolute pleasurable
experience for me and my wife.

Phil sorted everything, from booking the ferries, the
hotels and secure parking etc: etc:

The trip was fantastic right from the start, the ferry crossing
were excellent, with sunny calm weather.

We went on deck whale and dolphin watching, plenty of bars, restaurants with excellent food and drink at sensible prices
to choose from, plus entertainment throughout the crossings.

As for the riding, only twice did we venture onto a motorway and then only for a short distance.

We road fantastic twisties and
switchbacks to the top of mountains, through beautiful valleys with lakes and bridges, across miles of surreal open flat-lands, with plenty of stop offs along the way in quiet quaint sleepy little villages with hardly a sole to be seen.

The Hotels are the best you can get, all shining marble and tiles
everywhere, with large rooms, clean comfortable beds and big
bathrooms.

All come with secure parking and the breakfasts are fantastic with so much to choose from.

Hotels were all situated in the heart of the cities we visited, which were fantastic and a real variety of different architecture
and cultures, with lots of historic buildings and old towns to explore with plenty of Tapas bars and restaurants.

Phil knows all the best tried and tested places to see visit and eat etc: Phil’s the nicest easiest going bloke you’ll ever meet, nothing was ever to much trouble and he was always on the ball and always there to help and steer you through the trip
smoothly and enjoyably,

we couldn’t fault anything, he knows exactly what he’s doing and knows the areas like the back of his hand, it was a pleasure to ride with him and he looks after you from start to finish as he really wants you to enjoy yourself.

Would we do it again? Definately!

If your looking for a brilliant motorcycle tour of Northern and Central Spain this is the one to go for.

JUST DO IT AND BOOK NOW YOU WONT REGRET IT.

Geoff from The Wirral

2018 France & Spain Andorra & Pyrenees

Having not ridden abroad for over 30 yrs and never in a group I was a little anxious, but Phil looked after me really well with tips and advice and I quickly settled in.

Over the next 8 days we were treated to a variety of great roads including fast sweeping bends, challenging mountain switchbacks, gorges & high passes, all virtually traffic free.

Oh and the views were simply stunning. Every evening we enjoyed good quality hotels with secure parking, usually located in attractive towns & cities that were well worth exploring.

The group was a mix of regulars (both singles & couples) and newbies like myself, on a fair selection of bikes and we bonded well during the trip.

Riding days were not regimented and those confident enough could go their own way and meet up either later on or at the hotel, adding a relaxed informality to each days journey.

Thanks a lot Phil, your a great bloke to ride with and I am so happy I did not miss this adventure with yourself and the others.

Ian & Debra from Hull

2017 Northern Spain and Portugal including the Picos de Europa

This was our first tour with Missed Adventures and what a fantastic experience we had.

Phil, our Tour Guide, left nothing to chance – his exceptional planning, attention to detail and fantastic people skills led to a truly enjoyable experience.

Nothing was too much trouble for Phil and although we were in a group of 12 people (8 bikes)

Phil always had the time to help whether it was communicating with the locals, explaining about the days ride or recommending the easiest route to the best restaurants/bars at night.

We toured Northern Spain & Portugal and the route Phil took us on was breathtakingly beautiful with different terrain on almost every day we rode.

It was never boring, always enjoyable and at the end of every ride we had a luxurious hotel to look forward to.

We can honestly say it was the best holiday we have ever had and we can’t wait to join Phil again in the near future.

John from Berkshire

2017 Northern Spain and Portugal including the Picos de Europa

Another great tour, this time of Northern Spain and Portugal, my third with missed adventures and not the last.

Really enjoyed this tour, the roads and scenery amazing and the tapas bars at night buzzing.

We stayed in some amazing locations with great biking in the day time and as English is not really spoken in this part of Spain, it was good to have Phil on hand who`s Spanish is excellent.

Met another great bunch of fellow bikers, some repeat customers and some new.

I like Missed Adventures tours because they are not too regimental and he knows some great places to go, so a big thank you again Phil and looking forward to the next one.

Seriously looking to do this trip again!

Robin & Jane from Staffordshire

The Mighty Alps and Dolomites 2017

We had a great time and our thanks must go to you for organising an enjoyable tour.

I thought your choice of hotels was excellent and we have returned with the opinion that it was good value for money.

The group gelled well and it was a great experience meeting new friends from all over the country and different backgrounds.

Darran & Jane from West Midlands

The Mighty Alps and Dolomites 2017

Hi Phil,
Just dropping you a line to say thank you, Darran and myself had a fantastic holiday with you and all the good people who rode the roads with us.

It was nice to be in the company off such a bunch of characters who all got on so well.

This being our first trip abroad the scenery and the roads were totally breathtaking and the Alps & Dolomites did not disappoint they just kept giving, a bikers dream.

Phil your a top bloke who knows what he’s doing and when unforeseen things happened, you dealt with them in a very professional manner and still delivered routes that really were out this world so a big thank you too you and missed adventure tours and we will see you again in 2018 for next road trip.

Mark from Swindon

The Mighty Alps and Dolomites 2017

Phil I would just like to say a big thank you;

The Alps & Dolomite’s tour was everything you said it was and more, great hotels, stunning scenery and absolutely fantastic roads.

The biggest dilemma I had was whether to enjoy the dramatic scenery or enjoy the absolutely fantastic roads.

The roads won out on all but a couple of occasions, I can’t believe the difference between the UK roads and the roads on the tour, smooth and grippy a bikers dream.

This was my third tour with you and each time I’m impressed with your flexibility in rearranging the route due to unforeseen circumstances, in this case landslides and snow closing a couple of the passes.

In going that extra mile to help resolve the few issues with bikes, so that your customers can continue and enjoy the rest of their holiday.

Outstanding.

I have a few more of your tours I want to try but I have to say, this one I WILL do again.

Big thumbs up for the Alps and Dolomites

Craig from Glasgow

2017 Black Forest, The Mosel & Rhine valley’s, Hunsruck National Park & Vosges

Just got back from the Germany tour and all I can say is it was fantastic.

If you are swithering whether or not to do a guided tour with Missed Adventures, then I can’t recommend it enough.

Phil is both a very professional guide and a great guy, ensuring everyone was relaxed and comfortable.

He took care of everything, all I had to think about was what time did I get up for breakfast – exactly what you want on a bike tour!

Missed adventures is not some company who just cares about numbers. Phil loves bikes and sharing this experience in a professional yet relaxed manner.

The routes Phil organised were fantastic, very varied from gentle country roads to wide sweeping roads to mountainous roads with twisty fun hairpin bends and switchbacks.

The rides along the River Mosel & Rhine and around the Black Forest were particular favourites of mine and Zell was a fantastic location.

All the hotels were of a high standard and were very comfortable.

The pace of the ride was also perfect.

Phil takes great care to ensure that everyone is comfortable and doesn’t get lost.

I would highly recommend Phil and Missed Adventures.

I know I’m currently planning which of his tours I will do next!

John & Amanda from Northamptonshire

2017 Basque country and Pyrenees tour

We had been on the Basque Country & Pyrenees trip previously, but Phil promised lots of different routes and he didn’t let us down.

Yet more great routes, top hotels and excellent company.

Thanks again Phil

Melanie & David from Durham

2017 Black Forest, The Mosel & Rhine valley’s, Hunsruck National Park & Vosges

One reason we booked this tour is because Phil put himself out to reply to our emails even though he was on a tour at the time.

Also, Phil got as many of the group as possible together, before we went on the train to Europe.

Melanie was worried that there was only one other couple, but to be honest the group we had for the Germany trip was fantastic.

We all ate together every night and stayed together most of the time.

The riding was breathtaking at times.

The roads and scenery were out of this world.

The hotels were top quality with great breakfasts as was Phil’s local knowledge of the towns and restaurants we visited
(all were excellent)

The experience we had on this tour has left a lasting impression on both of us.

We would certainly do this tour again, but we will be looking at booking another trip with Phil.

On finishing the tour we took a few more days holiday to travel home and we both missed riding as a group and meeting up at the end of the day.

As a couple, I would recommend this tour, Phils local knowledge is excellent, the pace of the tour is good, great roads like the B500 and the Grand Ballon, and of course great local pattiseries.

Ian & Karen from York

2017 Black Forest, The Mosel & Rhine valley’s, Hunsruck National Park & Vosges

“As a back seat rider I had a super time touring with my husband on the Germany, Black Forest and Vosges Mountains tour.

The routes were very scenic and roads second to none.

Phil accommodated both single and pillion riders at a pace that suited all abilities.

The choice of hotels catered for all the important things such as hair dryers, mirrors and plugs for straightners!!

Great for the ladies among us.

The evenings were entertaining with good recommendations for restaurants and the odd beer and a great group of friends.

Overall it was refreshing to tour with a well organised company that took time to ensure you were safe and having a good time.

Looking forward to next years trip with Missed Adventures”

Steve from Lancashire

2017 Black Forest, The Mosel & Rhine valley’s, Hunsruck National Park & Vosges

I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Germany trip.

Everyone seemed to gel quickly and it made for a great atmosphere when off the bike in the evenings.

The roads were fab and the scenery excellent, particularly in Germany although I enjoyed the night in Brugges.

I thought everywhere we stopped was really good, particularly the hotel at Freudenstadt (fantastic room with balcony) as I
enjoyed the semi-rural location.

There is no doubt that I’ll be back next year on another trip.

Many thanks for organising & leading a ‘brilliant weeks riding’

Darren from Derbyshire

2017 Basque Country and Pyrenees tour

Having previously met Phil whilst selling a bike a few years ago, the
conversation of him running his own tour company arose.

He gave me one of his business cards and over the next few years I kept an eye on where he had been and what tours he was organising.

Fast forward four years and I found myself with nothing organised for the coming year so with some trepidation I gave Phil a call.

Having only ever gone on tours organised by myself or friends and never gone on a professionally organised tour I was a little anxious.

I gave Phil a call in regard to the 2017 Basques Country & Pyrenees Tour de France Routes.

Straight away the anxiety disappeared as Phil remembered coming to look at the bike four years earlier and could even remember the details.

Straight away it felt like talking to an old friend and before long I had paid a deposit for myself and my brother.

We met Phil on departure day and had a leisurely ride down to Plymouth picking up other tourists on the way.

Phil organised everything and not having to worry about planning routes, finding accommodation or fuel stops made for an excellent trip.

Throw in some excellent company, fantastic scenery, roads that put a big grin on your face and coffee stops aplenty made it a tour to remember.

I’m sure I will be back touring with Phil in the future and can only compliment him on his organisation, enthusiasm and being an all-round nice guy.

Jim & Lisa Dorset

2017 Garmisch, Austrian Alps & Black Forest tour

The Garmisch, Austrian Alps & Black Forest tour is fantastic, both for riders and pillion passengers.

You’ve captured a perfect snapshot of each country, cherry-picking some of the most enjoyable roads to ride in some of  the most scenic areas.

Whether we rode convoy with the group or we chose to go at our own pace, we were given directions and had regular checkpoints to regroup, so none of us would get lost.

All of the hotels were clean and comfortable,  ideally located and offered great views and food.

The 2-day stop-over for the BMW Motorrad Event was exceptional . . . even for Ducati riders like us!

In fact, you don’t even have to be a motorbike enthusiast to enjoy this event; they know
how to put on a good show and create a friendly relaxed atmosphere!

The marquee and stalls, the live bands, the food, the bikes, the stunt shows and the wall of death kept us entertained all weekend, day and night.

Phil took care of everything throughout the whole tour from Eurotunnel bookings and hotel check-ins to fuel and
subsistence stops and photo opportunities, so we literally switched our brains off for 11 days and were able to actually enjoy the holiday.

We really benefited from Phil’s research, knowledge and experience because without him, we would never have been able to organise a tour like this ourselves . . .

and that would be a real Missed Adventure!

Jason from Derbyshire

2017 Basque Country & Pyrenees tour

Phil, just a note to say thank you for a brilliant time on my first (and not last!) trip with Missed Adventures.

The Pyrenees and Basque country tour was spot on from start to finish.

Meeting all the “team” prior to getting on the ferry was a good ice breaker and we all became friends very quickly.

The routes in Spain and the Pyrenees appeared to be on roads that were deserted most of the time and the scenery during the days biking was just stunning!

Plenty of coffee breaks during the day allowed everyone to catch up for a chat before a good meal at night in a welcoming hotel.

Once again thank you and I look forward to seeing you again next year!

Colin from Essex

2017 Garmisch, Austrian Alps & Black Forest tour

Well I‘m glad when trawling the internet, looking for a biking tour company, I came across “Missed Adventures”.

Just come back from the “Garmisch, Austrian Alps and Black Forest Tour” and can honestly say that it not only met expectations but exceeded them dramatically.

Phil is an excellent host/guide/organiser and now friend and I will definitely be back for more.

The tour itself was perfectly organised with well sought out accommodation set in a fantastic Alpine backdrop and roads which were nothing short of biking nirvana and you just have to do the BMW Motorrad show…..it’s brilliant.

Quite a lot of miles to cover on this one,but if you’re a biker then isn’t that what we like to do….ride.

Thanks Phil.

Kev from Chester

2017 Basque Country and Pyrenees tour

This being my 2nd euro tour with Phil and Missed Adventures I can wholeheartedly say what a great organisation, you can have the utmost faith in Phil to deliver to the best of his ability a truly fantastic trip.

You may wonder ‘will my bike be suitable for so many miles’, on the Northern spain and Central Spain trip last year  i rode my Yamaha MT07 with back box and side panniers and being a naked bike i did wonder if it was suitable.

It was more than capable.

So 2017 and a great destination for a bit of scratching on my MV Dragster.

I only took a Kriega r30 back pack and a small tank bag on the rear seat, I wore shorts and t-shirts at night and a pair of slip on sandles, no jeans or shirts and did not feel scruffy at all when out for meals.

Was it worth it going light for a 10 day trip….you bet it was, those roads are without doubt fantastic fun, think of North Wales roads but twistier and no traffic and you will get the idea and was the MV suitable,,,, oh you bet it was I am still smiling while I type this.

The group I went with was of mixed ages and ability but everyone of us got from the trip everything we had hoped for.

Phil on his 800 Truimph was aware of my urge to be a little wild now and again and enabled me to blow some cobwebs away with sections of the route that he knew well and where i could go ahead of the group – even without a satnav.

So like last year years review… DO IT you will not be disappointed

Simon & Katy from Devon

2017 Basque Country & Pyrenees tour

A quick note to say thank you for an amazing time.

Without a doubt the best tour I have ever taken part in with amazing roads and good company.

Allen & Linda from Aberdeen

2017 Northern & Central areas of Spain

Eager to tour a foreign country i didn’t have the time to organise a trip myself, so i looked at various “tours” online and liked what i read about Missed Adventures.

I picked up the phone and asked for some information. The person I spoke to  was very pleasant and explained in detail about what to expect.

When I came off the phone I said to my wife “I have a good feeling about that bloke”.

A month later we booked our trip to Spain.

This “bloke” turns out to be Phil and he made our tour of Spain one of the best decisions we have made in a long time.

The roads and scenery that Phil led us on were stunning.

Time was taken to accommodate for all the groups needs and everybody was at ease and interacted well.

The hotels were of excellent quality and the secure parking was great.

If you want to see rugged Spain this is the way to do it.

Keep up the good work Phil.

We really appreciate the effort you put into organising your tours.

John from Berkshire

2017 France & Spain Andorra & Pyrenees

Back from another great trip with Phil to France, Andorra and the Pyrenees.

I found this tour to be excellent in respect that we visited some beautiful towns and villages and there was a good mix of bike, food, scenery, and relaxation.

This was my second tour with missed adventures having done the Alps in 2016 and now looking forward to Picos, Northern spain, and Portugal in September 2017.

Thanks again phil.

Andy from Dorset

Northern & Central Spain 2017

This trip was a great experience and I really enjoyed it.

It has given me confidence to get out more on my bike and cover longer trips.

Apart from the locations and overnight stays, the people made it for me, what a brilliant bunch to be away with.

Thanks for taking time with everyone on the trip, not only on the rides, but in showing us around towns etc, made things a real pleasure.

I will certainly be recommending your trips to friends.

Brian and Karen from Aberdeen

2017 Northern and Central areas of Spain.

Highly recommended!!!

Our first ever European Motorcycle Tour was everything and more. We could have had better weather but it certainly didn’t detract from our experience. The accommodation was absolutely first class. Phil made sure we were well catered for at all times with regular coffee/tea/colacao (hot chocolate) stops, and some great scenery along the way. The group got along famously with some laughs and promises to keep in touch. Thank you Phil for all your hard work in the organisation of this trip/holiday, we thoroughly enjoyed your company and as we have already mentioned we will be looking forward to our next trip 2018.

For anyone thinking about booking a trip with Missed Adventures please give it a try you will not be disappointed. With all our thanks and best wishes.

What a great man Phil, you’re so knowledgeable of places to see and where to go. Well recommended tour guide, so easy to get on with and no nonsense down to earth lad, can ride a bike too.

Highly recommended from the four Irish lads.

John from Somerset

2017 Ireland The Wild Atlantic Way and the Antrim Coast.

This tour far exceeded my expectations, to be honest. Great roads, great sights, great hotels and great company. From my initial enquiry through to the end of the trip, your thorough professionalism has been highly evident.

Some of the stand-out memories for me, other than the camaraderie, friendly natives and routes, were Joey’s bar/memorial, NW200 track route ride & Belfast

2017 France & Spain Andorra & Pyrenees

Just a note of thanks for a terrific tour experience. Beautiful scenery, great hotels, wonderful roads and thoroughly nice people all blended to make it a very memorable tour. Added to all that, your sensible management of the riding also made it safe but fun.

I would very much like to join you on another tour in the future.

Andy from Hampshire

2016 The Black Forest, The Mosel & Rhine valley’s, Hunsruck National Park & Vosges

Just got back from Germany with missed adventures, this is my third trip with Phil. The whole trip was well planned, accommodation was great, as always. Fantastic routes for every day, the B500 was worth the trip alone. With Phil being able to speak German, we didn’t go hungry once!!

Looking forward to another trip, next year, all being well.

John from Berkshire

2016 The Mighty Alps and Dolomites

First of all let me thank you again for a fantastic tour/holiday, only one complaint, it wasn`t long enough, I could have gone on forever with great roads, exceptionally nice hotels and lovely places.

We had some nice meals out in the evenings with a great bunch of people, the weather was in the high twenties with only two days of rain, roads were a real joy to ride with regular stops for refreshments and photo opportunities.

I took the trip as a chill out holiday / tour, so I had Phils phone number and would put the hotel for that night in my satnav and usually ride with the group, or if i wanted to peel off and stop to see something I did, then maybe catch up or just tour around on my own and meet with everyone at the hotel later.

Some of the hotels had swimming pools or saunas, and one even had a rooftop Jacuzzi which we could use before going out to eat.

This was a great tour and well organised by Phil / Missed Adventures and ‘Im going to book one, possibly two for 2017, highly recommended……

Erol from Hertfordshire

2016 The Mighty Alps and Dolomites

The Alps and Dolomites trip “does as it says on the tin”. Organised and hosted by the company owner Phil our party consisted of 9 bikes and 12 people.

From the off we were well hosted, Phil has much Euro route experience and his confidence is well founded.

Our group would be best described as mature, not sure if that’s the norm, but a great time was had both on and off the bikes.

If you’re after stunning scenery, some challenging riding, accommodation that’s well above average along with sound and friendly organisation then this’ll likely suit you.

I had a great time with no disappointments. Recommended? Sure it is.

Ian from Watford

2016 The Mighty Alps and Dolomites

I would like to send my thanks for a fantastic trip to the Alps & Dolomite’s, which was professionally organised and executed throughout.

You did not hold back on your choice of hotel accommodation, which was of a high standard and your geographical and local knowledge en route was superb.

I cannot fault your enthusiasm and passion to ensuring that we got maximum benefit from the tour.

It was a real pleasure to have been part of this trip, experiencing some fantastic roads and scenery and of course, forging new friendships.

I hope to return in the near future and do it all again………

Phil from Wolverhampton

2016 Northern Spain and Portugal including the Picos de Europa

I wanted to thank you for the memorable trip you provided for me to Northern Spain and Portugal. Although I have travelled widely, I had never been to this part of Europe but I will definitely be returning. Having been on a few motorcycle trips previously (the good, bad and indifferent) I chose ‘Missed Adventures’ over others as I wanted an organised trip and didn’t want massive motorway mileage every day getting from one place to another. You provided a perfect blend of manageable miles along beautiful scenic roads with billiard table smooth Tarmac, sweeping bends and hardly any traffic to speak of. We explored cities, towns, cultural sights and you always ensured the stops were timely and that the food, drink and hotel accommodation met your high standards. I was most impressed with the riding route you provided, your flexibility and the way you always made sure everyone was having a good time.

In short – your trip did exactly what it said on the tin!

Jon Pierre from Paris

2016 Northern Spain and Portugal including the Picos de Europa

Many thanks for a well organised and enjoyable adventure. Every day was different in terms of ride, scenery and culture.

I thought our Indian trips could not be bettered. Not so sure now.

Phil And Pam from Dorset

2016 Northern Spain and Portugal including the Picos de Europa

We enjoyed the tour very much and it certainly opened our eyes to a part of Europe that we had never visited before.  The roads were great and the fact that I now need a new front tyre and brake pads is testament to the riding enjoyment we had !!  We were happy with the quality of the hotels and the locations chosen ensured that we visited places that were interesting and out of the ordinary.  Your customer care certainly exceeded our expectations and went well beyond the call of duty.  We’ll certainly be looking to do another Missed Adventure tour again.

John and Joy from Norwich

2016 Northern Spain and Portugal including the Picos de Europa

After years of riding in the UK Holland Belgium and Northern France, Joy and myself decided we wanted to go on a trip to northern Spain and Portugal, we soon realised this wasn’t going to be easy to arrange, luckily I came across Missed Adventures and Phil’s trip was everything we wanted so I booked as soon as I could. This was one of the best things I have ever done, Phil looked after it all from the moment we all met at Portsmouth dock. The sights, the roads, the Hotels and the company were all excellent and places I would never have found, if next years holidays wasn’t already arranged I would book again in an instant, roll on 2018!!

Kev and Jen from Gloucestershire

2016 Northern Spain and Portugal including the Picos de Europa

We both enjoyed the company of everyone in the friendly group, and if it’s not a contradiction, also the freedom to do our own thing when it suited us, especially being vegetarians.

The balance of riding and time off the bike for sightseeing was perfect for us, again helped by you providing a choice of routes each day.

Spain has a rich history and so every town or city we stayed in had plenty to explore after a day riding through beautiful and often dramatic scenery on brilliant roads.

Although we’d read in magazines about some roads being so quiet you’d think they were closed, it was still almost surreal to ride out most days without seeing a car for anything from 30 minutes to an hour. You’d never get that in the UK, nor the smiling petrol attendants that fill your tank!

It was a great trip and gave Jen and I a real taste of how great Spain is beyond the Mediterranean Costas.

John from London

2016 Northern Spain and Portugal including the Picos de Europa

Picos and Portugal 2016 was my fourth tour with Missed Adventures and once again Phil’s consistent caring attitude, attention to detail and a varied route with quality hotels along the way, not to mention his fluent Spanish, combined to make this a memorable holiday; we were a group of mixed ages and different bikes and we all got on very well.

Once again I would recommend Missed Adventure to anyone. Try it……………..!

Dawn & Wayne Nottinghamshire

2016 The Mighty Alps and Dolomites

Just to say a very big thank you for the amazing 10 day holiday we spent with you on your guided tour.

From the moment we arrived in Hythe till we rode off the Eurostar on our way home, your attention to detail was perfect.

We were all made to feel welcome, even though we had never met each other before. We soon became friends & the fun people we rode with made the journey more enjoyable. Evenings were spent in the local restaurants where we caught up on the days events.

We will be keeping in touch & sorry to tell you this but we will defiantly be travelling with you again.

From the fantastic choice of hotels, to the fabulous scenery it was all breathtaking. The morning talks & map of the day, were very informative, with plenty of guidance throughout the whole trip, the organisation was 2nd to non.

Austria being our favourite & especially the Grossglockner Pass. The black forest gateaux was well worth the wait & it was good that we were able to travel at our own pace.

The amount we covered on this tour was excellent value for money. Communication via emails before the trip was very informative, any questions were quickly answered.

Looking forward to our next holiday with you.

Gary from Hertfordshire

2016 The Black Forest, The Mosel & Rhine valley’s, Hunsruck National Park & Vosges

The trip to Germany l attended this year had everything, it rained to start with and was cool and then from day 2 onwards it started to get warmer until it was very hot indeed, with scorching temperatures.

Unfortunately one person broke down and Phil was determined to get the bike fixed quickly and he did so.

Not sure how many other companies would have given so much attention to detail in helping the guy out. I guess what we all want from a tour is if it all goes wrong we have someone on our side and Phil sure was.

Grab a bottle of water, grab a couple of gallons of petrol and grab your credit card.

I’d say if you’re looking for your first adventure it’s a fair place to start, alongside somebody who is totally in control.

Fiona and Colin from Lincolnshire

2016 The Black Forest, The Mosel & Rhine valley’s, Hunsruck National Park & Vosges

Many thanks for the wonderful photos you sent us-they are a reminder of all the good times we had on the tour and the lovely people we shared our holiday with.

Thanks again for showing us some of the most spectacular scenery and leading us on some of the best roads in Germany and the Black Forest.

Chris from Sheffield

2016 Ireland Motorcycle Tour – The Atlantic Way and the Antrim Coast

Fairly new to motorcycling and my first trip with Missed Adventures.

What an absolute pleasure the trip was from start to finish.

Phil’s help, advice and attention to detail went way beyond all expectations. His professionalism throughout the whole adventure ensured that I could concentrate on my riding and simply enjoy the holiday.

The West and North coasts of Ireland are spectacular, even in the odd spell of rain. The standard of hotel and the quality of food was spot on and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this trip to anyone who is interested

As for next year, I have already asked for the calendar. I will be booking another trip !!

Martyn from Bristol

2016 Ireland Motorcycle Tour – The Atlantic Way and the Antrim Coast

Thank you for a very enjoyable trip to Ireland. This is my third tour with you and all have been to the same high standard. Proof of your success is the fact I have two more trips planned. I particularly enjoy the small groups and relaxed pace of all your trips.

Once again thanks for your effort and keep it up.

Dave from Hampshire

2016 Ireland Motorcycle Tour – The Atlantic Way and the Antrim Coast

To say that I had a wonderful time would be a gross understatement, all of the hotels booked were perfect, the route was very interesting and entertaining, and Phil’s attention to detail as well as always looking after his customers was exemplary. It is very clear to me why so many in the group had booked on previous tours.

For me, as a first timer, this tour was perfect.

Alessio from London

2016 Scotlands West Coast Motorcycle Tour – Argyll & Bute / Kintyre

Just wanted to say thank you to Missed Adventure for a great trip in West Scotland; this was my first motorbike holiday and I had a great time, thoroughly enjoyed it. The organization was perfect, we rode through great roads and beautiful landscape every single day. Phil did a great job in taking care of the group in all aspects of the trip, from the accommodation and daily routes to the evening meals and drinks.

Definitely recommend this trip and recommend Missed Adventure.

Pete and Christine from Leicestershire

2016 Scotlands West Coast Motorcycle Tour – Argyll & Bute / Kintyre

Just returned from a week in Scotland with Missed Adventures. This was our third trip with Phil providing his usual excellent service.

I’d already decided to visit the Kintyre peninsula but Phil’s routes exceeded anything I could have planned, including island hopping on ferries. Hotels were all up to the usual standard – in Oban we had the best view in the hotel, out over the bay, with a decanter of whisky liqueur and two glasses waiting for us on arrival. The route across Scotland took us past Loch Tay with beautiful roads and excellent views.

We have already booked up for Ireland and the Spain-Portugal trips and are looking forward to 2017.

Mark from Swindon

2016 Scotlands West Coast Motorcycle Tour – Argyll & Bute / Kintyre

I’ve toured Europe and Scotland on the bike many years ago with a few friends. But having recently moved I didn’t know anyone to press into going with me, so decided to bite the bullet and book on a motorcycle tour with missed adventures and do Scotland again.

I must say it pays to go with someone who knows the area. Phil does indeed know his way around Scotland and we rode some fantastic roads, it’s easy to find some nice roads as the Scottish really don’t do straight lines, but it takes local knowledge to find the fantastic roads.

Thanks Phil for an awesome holiday, I will be booking on another tour with you next year.

Mick from Ashbourne

2016 Basque Country and Pyrenees Tour

I have completed two super tours with missed adventures now, I read all the testimonials by others beforehand and thoroughly agree with them  – looked after from start to finish by a true professional.

So if you want to tour look no further than Missed Adventures.

Steve from Surrey

Garmisch ‘BMW Motorrad event’ Austrian Alps & Black Forest Tour 2016

Hi Phil,

It was a pleasure riding with you on the Garmisch trip.

I was really impressed by your professional, well organised itinerary – the hotels were well suited for this type of trip.

I would certainly consider joining you again on another Missed Adventures tour.

Phil from Surrey

Garmisch ‘BMW Motorrad event’ Austrian Alps & Black Forest Tour 2016

Recently took my first European tour to Germany/Garmisch with Missed Adventures and I have to say it was great.

Phil out tour leader was very good and had great knowledge of where we were heading each day. We had a mix of ages and bikes and everyone got on from the off. We rode some great roads including a number of mountain passes and stayed off motorways as much as possible which was great.

I would definitely consider doing another tour with Missed Adventures and fancy the Spain & Portugal trip next time.

Tim from Derbyshire

Garmisch ‘BMW Motorrad event’ Austrian Alps & Black Forest Tour 2016

I booked the Garmish trip on my own, not knowing who or what I would encounter over the 10 day trip.

What a fantastic group of people, we were all like minded and had many conversations with our past experiences, all kind helpful people.

As for Phil ‘what a fantastic host ‘ easily approachable and resolved any issues through his vast experience.

The scenery was mind blowing, with just the right amount of riding time taking regular breaks and all discussing what we had seen over a coffee break.

Everyone had the option to do there own thing if and when required, no pressure !

All the hotels were of a good standard, and excellent locations.

To conclude, the trip, the scenery, the hotels, and all the people I met were fantastic ,

I will defiantly be re booking again with Phil.

Thumbs up and thanks you for sharing your experience with me.

Book me in on the Picos Portugal tour for 2017.

Tony from Glossop

Basque Country and Pyrenees Tour 2016

First trip with Missed Adventures.

Thought I’d rode some of the best roads in Europe. B500 very good, route Napoleon, Alps excellent.

I’ve just got back from a brilliant ride around the Basque country and Pyrenees region. Riding bliss, no traffic, beautiful ribbons of smooth unmolested tarmac. Wonderful scenery.

Phils a great tour guide and very easy to get on with, lovely hotels and great company, really enjoyable holiday.

See you next year mate.

John from Southampton

Basque Country and Pyrenees Tour 2016

I just wanted to say a genuine thank-you for such a brilliant time.

The holiday was absolutely fantastic from the first minute to the last, and your detailed planning, local knowledge and laid back but thoroughly professional attitude made the whole experience a complete joy.

It was everything I could have asked for, and more.

Paul from Surrey

Basque Country and Pyrenees Tour 2016

This was my third trip booked with ‘Missed Adventures’. The Basque Country was largely new territory for me and I’ve not been to the Pyrenees for many a year.

Phil’s knowledge of the area and not to mention his command of the Spanish language made for yet another fun trip. Great roads and scenery and a good choice of evening accommodation was a winning combination.

See you again soon.

Picos and Portugal for me next I think!!

Simon & Kate

Northern and Central Spain Tour 2016

Once again thank you for an enjoyable holiday and for all your efforts in ensuring we visited some amazing locations.

This is one we will all remember for years to come and we both loved every minute of it.

A credit to your professionalism and commitment in ensuring everyone had an amazing time.

We both plan to book for another tour with you next year.

Once again thanks for an amazing time.

Paul from Devon

Northern and Central Spain Tour 2016

I’d like to say thank you for such a good holiday.

I really enjoyed the whole experience, so much so, that having looked at the Germany trip in August I would like to join you on it!

Kev from Chester

Northern and Central Spain Tour 2016

There are times in your life when you wish you had done something and for what ever reason it does not happen. I am happy to say this was such a time for me, but one I acted upon.

I scoured the net looking for price, date and venue and came across Missed Adventures, which met all my criteria and for several months I looked forward to the trip.

On departure day, Brittany ferries had technical issues with our ferry and in adversity you soon find out how good a company is by how they deal with the problems.

Phil handled the problems with skill and a great deal of perseverance and we all were kept informed of and included in, any decision making process and I for one enjoyed my time with the other riders in the group and the holiday.

Phil kept his cool throughout and organised the logistics of ferry bookings and alternate accommodation and I would wholeheartedly recommend Missed Adventure to anyone reading this.

Only by seeing how a company deals with adversity do you find how good they are.

Go on do it, take the plunge you will not be disappointed.

Jeremy from Hampshire

Picos & Portugal Tour 2015

Missed Adventures, it certainly was for me, first time with an organised tour company, I certainly chose the right one from the moment we met in Portsmouth. All strangers apart from one common interest, motorcycling.

Great group to be with, lovely hotels and brilliant scenic routes, saw places that I would never have seen on a solo tour, just so well organised from start to finish could not fault Phil’s attention to all on the tour, definitely another tour next year with Missed Adventures.

Rob & Tracy from Telford

Picos & Portugal Tour 2015

We would like to say thanks for the wonderful memories on the 2015 trip to The Pico’s, Northern Spain and Portugal.

We met a great group of people and Phil “our leader” was a top bloke. We rode on some brilliant roads and took in many amazing and breath taking views.

The accommodation was excellent as was the food and drink. We even got used to the tapas that Phil introduced us to!

Having been on a tour last year with a different company, where the plan for the day was to be up and out by 8.30am and then riding all day just to get to our next destination, it was great to be able to relax, take our time and enjoy the roads and scenery on this Missed Adventures tour.

Thank-you Phil and all on the trip. Will see you again.

Steve from Hungerford

Picos & Portugal Tour 2015

Thanks to Phil my best trip yet, having been on two previous trips with Missed Adventures in the last two years, (Northern & Central Spain 2014, Scottish Highlands and Isle of Sky 2015).

Fantastic biking roads (more Pot Holes to Portsmouth Ferry than on whole Spain & Portugal Tour) Excellent Scenery, Great Hotels / Great Food and historic towns and villages visited.

Not Laughed so much in ages.

Phil as your Tour Guide has many Advantages:

The routes are the best: preselected and ridden previously by Phil, best roads, best scenery, best places of interest.

He accompanies you on your trip and does his best to ensure your complete happiness and satisfaction with your holiday, he speaks fluent Spanish and is on hand to order meals, drinks and help sort out anything else.

He is at your disposal from breakfast to late evening if required. If you get lost or loose the group, (I left my phone in a hotel on charge and had to go back) he will call / txt your mobile with the nearest meeting location, so you then can use your Satnav to catch up, or he will come to you on his bike if possible so you can follow him to re-join the group.

He is there to assist if you have a puncture or break down or if some other emergency occurs.

The drop off system worked well, particularly for bikers without a Satnav.

You can either dine / drink / visit places of interest with the group or on your own if you wish. Group is preferred and much more fun and entertaining.

Group photographer, Phil does this free of charge and will give you copies of the holiday photos he has taken after your return to the U.K.

All the Hotels were excellent, the holiday wonderful, just got to make plans now for one or two trips with Missed Adventures in 2016.

John and Amanda from Northamptonshire

Alps & Dolomites tour 2015

The Alps & Dolomites tour was our second trip with Missed Adventures. Amazing scenery, stunning mountain passes and enjoyable evenings spent in good company.

We look forward to our next adventure with Phil.

Victor from High Peak

Picos & Portugal Tour 2015

I have toured with Phil through Spain and Portugal a couple of times now and have only one word that would describe the experience. “Excellent”.

As a biker for over 40 years I have been around Europe a bit shall we say and I only wish I had discovered Missed Adventures earlier. When it comes to the choice of route, places visited, accommodation and ferries then it’s just simply a well organised and value for money package.

Whether you are looking for a first time tour experience or have already been abroad many times then I promise you that the size of the group, the pace of the ride, pit stops and social times off the bike time are spot on as well.

I have signed up for next year already.

Simon from London

Germany tour 2015

Phil, I enjoyed the Germany trip very much, probably the best European tour I have been on.

I’ll be checking out your website to see what’s on offer for next year.

Andy and Mel from Shrewsbury

Picos & Portugal Tour 2015

Thanks again for a great tour, it was a lot of fun. You put on a great schedule and you were always fun, courteous and helpful.

Rob from Scunthorpe

Germany tour 2015

I’m very grateful for all your help on the lead up to the tour and then the friendship throughout. A great motorcycle holiday and so glad I chose to do it with Missed Adventures.

Darren from Derby

Germany Black Forest tour 2015

I’ve not long been back from the Germany Black Forest tour 2015, this is my 2nd tour with Missed Adventures and I had another fantastic time, the other riders were great. We rode some fantastic roads and the scenery was breathtaking!

I would recommend Missed Adventures if you are thinking of doing a motorbike tour.

Karen and Olly from Leicestershire

Picos & Portugal Tour 2015

Once again, many thanks for a wonderful trip. The tour will stay in our minds for years. You were a great guide and a sound bloke. Thanks for your all time.

Dermot from Bournemouth

Germany and Vosges Mountains tour 2015

Phil thank you for looking after us on the tour, great roads great scenery and great company, proper motorcycle tour, and great hotels would recommend Missed Adventures to all bikers.

I look forward to the next one (be rude not to)

Ivor and Jane from Bedfordshire

Picos & Portugal Tour 2015

Our thanks to Phil for a great tour in Northern Spain and Portugal. This was our first time in the area and our first time with an organised tour – we were not disappointed and will definitely be going with Missed Adventures again sometime in the not too distant future.

We got to see some amazing sights, many of them areas that were off the beaten track for tourists. Phil was an extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and patient group leader. He eased the way with his language skills and his personable approach in bars, restaurants and hotels.

We liked the fact that Phil’s groups are small. This makes it manageable for him but also allows us to chat individually with people and really get to know them.

Mark from Hungerford

Germany and Vosges Mountains tour 2015

After taking my 1982 BMW touring solo in 2014, I was inspired to book a group tour for this year, and Missed Adventures seemed to fit the bill with a good mix of sensible mileages, sightseeing and the all-important social side. Not having done this before, I was a bit apprehensive, but Phil put me at ease from the outset as we set off on the Germany and Vosges Mountains tour. The chosen routes were great for bikes, hotels excellent and the places visited interesting and memorable. The group got on well together both on and off the road, largely due to Phil’s leadership and attention to detail and nothing was too much trouble with his aim that we all had a great holiday. This Missed Adventures holiday was very enjoyable and a memorable experience that I’d recommend to anyone with a taste for motorcycle touring.

A great week and excellent value for money.

Will from Southampton

Scottish Highlands 2015

This was my first tour and my first time in the Scottish Highlands so I really had no idea what to expect, but when I contacted Phil, he immediately made me feel at ease, explaining what would happen and what I would need to do. On the tour, he had everything organised perfectly; very comfortable hotels, fantastic roads and a very friendly group of people. They had all been on one of these tours before, which proves how good they are.

I’m already planning the next adventure – which looks like the Alps and Dolomites.

Roy from Derbyshire

Picos de Europa and Moto Piston 2014

I have been on four Missed Adventures trips over the last few years, including the 2014 Picos de Europa tour and enjoyed every one of them.

Phil goes out of his way to make sure everything runs smoothly, is fluent in Spanish and speaks good German and French. I have celiac disease (a wheat and gluten intolerance) and Phil looks to source restaurants where I am able to eat.

The fabulous scenery, the magnificent towns, cities and places of interest we have visited have all been amazing. The stunning mountainous roads of the Picos are built for bikes with very little traffic and sweeping flowing bends, which go on forever.

We stayed in excellent hotels with really good facilities and safe parking for the bikes.Highly recommend Missed Adventures bike tours and next up for me is Germany in 2015.

Bryn Morley

Picos de Europa and Moto Piston 2014

I would just like to thank Phil for a fantastic holiday. I went on the Picos de Europa and Moto Piston tour which is an area I have never been to before. The scenery and roads are unbelieveable. These are some of the best biking roads I have ever been on. I would definately recomend this trip. The organisation and accommodation were second to none and the food and drink were equally as good.

I would certainly go on another tour with Missed Adventures.

David G

Picos de Europa and Moto Piston 2014

I had a great time on the recent Picos trip. I usually plan my own bike excursions but using Phil’s services gave some important advantages.

There was simply someone to follow who knows the best routes with good hotels booked and fantastic scenery for each day’s riding.

My own travels abroad have sometimes resulted in looking for accommodation at night in an unknown town, or wasting time deciding on how to get somewhere and what sights to see.

On this trip I enjoyed some cracking roads and a good balance of time to wander around several fine historic towns and wind down with good meals, decent wine and good company. Thoroughly recommended.

Dave from Derbyshire

Germany 2014

Yet another great touring adventure. Missed adventures always deliver a great ride at a pace to suit all, on great motorcycling roads through great country side. What is not to like about the Mosel & Rhine Valleys, the Black Forest and Vosges Mountains!

As always on these trips, the evenings are great fun with good company, sharing great meals in good bars and restaurants with an excellent hotel to retire to. Everything a holiday should be, but with the bonus of riding the bike as well!

I am now trying to deciding which one go on next!.

Eamonn from Co. Waterford, Ireland

Scottish Highlands & Skye 2014

My first ever motorcycle holiday and luckily I had the pleasure to book my tour to Scotland with Phil @ Missed Adventures. The whole experience was astonishing. Every day of the tour was amazing. From the Hotels – Meals – Excursions – Daily Route plan – broken up with the banter & coffee, rallying the troops for the morning breakfast & brief, before moving on to the next destination – not to mention the odd drink or two in the evenings… Just as important Phil was very understanding on the Fuel economy of different bikes & had fuel stops planned to a T, with a welcome short break slotted in prior to moving on. Be it an Ice Cream / soft drink or simply just a breather. The Scottish scenery was in itself very moving and most enjoyable.

The planning & detail by Phil could only be described as First Class and excellent in every way possible. Even the weather I am sure Phil had planned – Stunning all day – every day. Go Raibh Maith Agat – Phil – Thank you Phil.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Missed Adventures for any motorcycle tour, I had a fabulous week and “for sure” I look forward to planning my next tour with Missed Adventures.

Paul from Surrey

Germany 2014

Missed Adventures offers the perfect antidote to rigid timetables and fixed itineraries by being small enough to be flexible but seasoned enough to have the knowledge and care to make your trip fun and exciting without neglecting that undefinable element of ‘ a bit of an adventure’.

Phil leads the way with a can do attitude and the savvy to understand that it’s your trip and he’ll bend over backwards to make sure, wherever possible, anything along the way can be taken in. Group dynamics are always going to be a lottery but with the common denominator being motorcycling and led by a true motorcyclist you’re off to a good start.

Brian from Kent

Germany 2014

This was my first motorcycle tour and I was a little nervous. Phil rang me just after I booked and we had a good chat which put me at ease, he also rang again just before the tour start date and we were all soon meeting at the channel tunnel, I was really ready to get going. Phil put together a really good tour and we traveled some fantastic roads through stunning scenery and stayed in very nice hotels.

My travelling companions could not have been better company and the week went far too quick.

I am now waiting for Phil to post 2015 tours and dates so I can start planning and saving.

A big thank you Phil for making my first tour a holiday to remember.

John from London

Germany 2014

“Phil was an ideal tour leader – always in control but never controlling.

The route was varied and interesting, the hotels good and we all had a great time.

We were a mixture of sports and adventure bikes and I would certainly recommend Missed Adventures to anyone

John & Elaine from Alfreton

Great scenery fabulous hotels and good company were just a few of the good points on this Scottish Highlands tour with Missed Adventures.

Tour guide Phil had the itinery all planned out perfectly and this takes all the stress out of touring, just let someone else do it for you.

We can highly recommend Missed Adventures, give it a try we have TWICE

Mike from Kent

The Missed Adventures, Northern and Central Spain Tour was a perfect holiday for me. With no time to plan anything myself as summer is my busy period at work, it was a real advantage to be able to rely on Phil Hough’s professionalism and ‘just turn up and ride’

He had thoroughly researched the routes and accommodation in person, providing us with a wide range of riding experiences through fantastic scenery on well maintained roads away from the tourist trail.

We visited some fascinating places and met local people who were really friendly.

The hotels were good to outstanding and the food and wine was excellent, being both authentic and palatable.

Phil’s many years of experience driving and riding abroad helps you to relax and enjoy your bike in the knowledge that help is always at hand if required, and his fluency with the lingo means there are no misunderstandings with menus or directions etc.

We went at a pace that could be enjoyed by all and everyone got on famously. I found places that I will definitely have to go back to (the mountains of Asturias and the city of Salamanca) and am looking forward to booking my next tour with Missed Adventures.

Robert from London

I have now attended two successful tours with Missed Adventures so far.

Just wanted to drop you a line to score the Northern and Central Spain tour 10/10.

It was immensely enjoyable and if I’m honest, I am itching to go again – your professionalism and hands on approach left me simply at ease and at some points reluctant to even return to the UK not wishing it to end.

The hotels and routes were rather splendid. Our stops for coffee, evenings out, strolling through the towns and mingling with the locals, sampling tapas and of course the drinks, warmed me to my core and will remain with me for sometime.

It’s not often that what is promised, is delivered and indeed exceeded.

A big thank you from me. Looking forward to another trip at some point

Adele from Lincolnshire

Just got back from the Northern and Central Spain Tour and wow!

Fantastic scenery, great hotels and a great guide in Phil, who had a huge enthusiasm for the country and really puts a lot of effort into the organisation and making you feel at ease. I took my 1982 GPz550, which proves you can tour on any bike.

Mileages were just right, food fantastic and the company excellent. Highly recommended.

Just returned from Basque and Pyrenees tour, my first abroad, and second with Missed Adventures, the anticipation following on the first was fully vindicated. The riding, pace, roads, scenery, hotels, food, tapas bars and weather were just wonderful.

The roads in Spain outside the cities are just fantastic, very good quality, and virtually NO traffic! The pace of riding was excellent, brisk but safe if you wanted, or just taking your time to look at the scenery, which was stunning in the Pyrenees.

Phil’s knowledge of the region and the Spanish language made the whole trip simple and straight forward for those on the tour, including fixing a puncture I picked up in Gernika. All we had to do was fill up with fuel and ride. All the hotels and breakfasts were excellent with secure overnight parking for the bikes.

Again, as before, the touring group were a joy to be with and made the evenings in the tapas bars and restaurants something to look forward to each day. Anticipation for the next trip with Missed Adventures is already started!

Phil’s leadership on the Basque Country tour was exemplary, although the routes were in no way suitable for a novice, they could be ridden with care and great enjoyment by all who took part. At no time was it necessary to go too fast to keep up, no-one got separated from the group, stops were planned for refreshments, he even spoke the lingo and ordered for us if we were unable!

The hotels were good to excellent with secure parking and the views were spectacular.

We’ll be back!

“A fantastic motorcycle tour to the Pyrenees, excellent value for money and thoroughly enjoyable!”

Really enjoyed the recent trip to the Pyrenees. This was the first time we had joined an organised trip as we normally arrange everything ourselves but wish we had done this earlier. Phil had obviously put in a lot of effort researching great roads, hotels and restaurants and we can’t wait to join him again on another trip.

Being a “Born Again” biker last year after a 25 year gap, I decided to go on a solo motorcycling holiday with Missed Adventures. It was a guided tour up of the Pyrenees Mountains and the Basque Country and I was looking forward to riding the twisty mountain roads. The holiday was fantastic, my first ever organised bike trip, the hotels were immaculate, the food and wine excellent, especially as Phil, the organiser could speak fluent Spanish to assist with our orders. The whole trip was well organised, with excellent biking roads, scenery, and most of all the happy crowd of fellow bikers.

As well as being a wonderful holiday, I have also become a much better and safer bike rider for the experience. The chosen routes have really developed my riding skills much further.

Some people are reluctant to consider an organised motorcycle tour, stating that people ride too fast and accidents can happen. However, everyone kept at a safe distance from each other, the pace was steady and relaxing, overall a most enjoyable experience to be repeated by myself again soon.

Just a few words in praise of your Spanish tour. Well where do I start, really well organised, really good bunch of people, nice steady riding, excellent scenery, fantastic roads, but one of the best bits for me, the food and wine. Tapas, never had it before and what have I been missing, it was fantastic, food of every description and the fact that our host spoke excellent Spanish only served to make things 100% better. Phil also knows a bit about fine wine too, really excellent.

Hotels were all of a really good standard and cant think of anything bad to say it was just fabulous. I for one want more and will be booking for one of missed adventures tours again in 2014!

Once again thank you very much indeed.

Just got back after almost a week of touring around Scotland, with Missed Adventures, a place I have wanted to ride around for years. I cant think of anything I would have done differently.

The accommodation was to a very comfortable standard, and the food was second to none. Riding up in to Scotland was just out of this world, the scenery was better than any picture in the endless bike magazines I have read.

Every day was planned with a very leisurely ride and ample stops for sight seeing. We rode round the coast, through rolling hills and even over a mountain or two. There was a varied group of people with two common interests, Riding and having fun, which we had in abundance, Even my wife, who is not keen on riding said, its probably the best holiday she has ever had!!!

Being solo and my first motorcycle tour I had high hopes for an enjoyable holiday. I have to say it exceeded ALL my expectation. The pace of the riding was relaxed and appropriate for the circumstances and certainly not a race. The roads we travelled on were great, some challenging but not dangerous, and the scenery in parts was stunning.

Daily mileage with adequate breaks/fuel stop was easily managed by anyone with some riding experience and a suitable bike. The organisation was good with a relaxed attitude to the itinerary and didn’t feel regimented or hassled. The hotel accommodation varied form very good to excellent. The food was also very good to superb.

However it was the company and camaraderie that exceeded all my expectations. The start and end to the day were so enjoyable that the riding in between was just a bonus! I’m ready to do it all again.

My first bike tour, on my new Triumph Speed Triple R, and what an amazing experience!

The tour around Northern Spain, travelling through and staying in wonderful cities was so much better than I anticipated. The well planned days allowed for enjoying the magnificent sights whilst riding in leisure.

Each stop had been well thought out, allowing us to get the most out of our tour. The fact that Phil spoke Spanish helped if we incurred any communication issues. Accommodation was top, top quality , and food was great. Looking forward to my next tour with Missed Adventures, as this certainly won’t be my last.

Great experience, we’ll organised and great fun!

This was our first visit to Scotland and our first motorcycle holiday. Missed Adventures certainly delivered to make it memorable for us.

The pace of riding was achievable and comfortable throughout the whole holiday. A well organised itinerary each day with breaks to stop and take in the fantastic scenery.

We had great days riding and even better nights recalling each enjoyable day, relaxing in the first class accommodation that we stayed in each night.

Best decision of 2013 would do it all again.

Well, I was a little apprehensive about going on a planned bike tour rather than my normal trip of making it up and camping.

Along with this, I was with folks I didn’t know but I need not of worried, the trip from the very start was well organised and the only thing I had to do was put fuel in the bike and ride it. We toured Northern Spain, nine of us in total. Not only did we see some amazing sites, fantastic roads, great food and accommodation, the local knowledge and the fact that all the hassle of finding somewhere to stay and where to go to get the most of your location was all taken away, all I had to do was enjoy myself.

I would thoroughly recommend Missed Adventures and I am looking forward to the next adventure and meeting up with some of my new found friends thanks to Phil.

Northern Spain Tour 2013

Just returned from the most fantastic ten days I’ve ever spent on my bike. Phil Hough the tour organiser planned everything from start to finish to make our trip completely hassle free, he also spoke fluent Spanish which was an added bonus.

If you love riding, love fantastic roads, beautiful Tapas food and stunning scenery, then Missed Adventures tours is definitely a must.

I can’t wait for my next one.

Northern & Central Spain 2013

Great hotels, lovely scenery and really good roads and due to Phil speaking Spanish everything went smoothly. Top group of fellow riders as well, to share great food and good wine with!
