Missed Adventures Black Forest, Austrian Alps and Bavaria Motorcycle Tour

2022

IMG_0058Our Black Forest, Austrian Alps & Bavaria motorcycle tour begins by crossing the channel and heading through France, then in to Belgium for our first overnight stay. We head for Germany next and over the following four days, cross in to Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Austria again before finally returning to Germany for a two night stay in Bavaria. We have a lovely 4* hotel in Bavaria and spending two days here, means people can either use a rest day visiting the regions interesting sites or riding out around the stunning scenery on the Saturday before returning to the hotel.

We have beautiful Austrian and Swiss Alpine scenery as we ride the fabulous roads here, taking in the Fluela pass before eventually leaving Switzerland behind. We will experience the stunning and awesome scenery of the Austrian and Italian Tyrol region, including the Timmelsjoch pass, the Jaufenpass, and the Brenner pass.

Our hotel accommodation throughout is of an extremely high quality and when coupled with the stunning Bavarian, Austrian and Alpine scenery, it really will be a holiday to remember. The evenings out in the beautiful towns and villages are an added bonus of this tour and it will definitely not disappoint you.

Day 1:

Our tour starts with an afternoon Eurotunnel crossing to Calais before heading South-East through the Nord Pas De Calais region. Using the main motorway network we make our way to the first overnight stay of the tour after crossing in to Belgium.

Day 2:

We continue South the next morning through Belgium, Luxembourg and in to Germany for an overnight stay at our lovely four star hotel set within the Rhineland – Palantine region.

Day 3:

Today we head south through Rhineland-Palantinate, Baden Wurttemburg and in to the Black Forest, where we have an excellent family run hotel, offering secure parking and its own bar and restaurant.

Day 4:

From our hotel we head South through the beautiful Black Forest and down towards Switzerland. We cross the border visiting a famous tourist spot, then using national routes we cross over in to Austria to the south of Lake Constance. We have a well situated hotel in Austria with ample parking and its own on site restaurant.

Day 5:

Today we head South and travel through Liechtenstein before crossing once again in to Switzerland. Our route today includes the Fluelapass, before we head North East through stunning Swiss scenery and cross back in to Austria for our next overnight stay. Our beautiful hotel gives us early access the next morning, to some wonderful motorcycling roads and three excellent passes.

Day 6:

Leaving the hotel we travel through beautiful Alpine scenery, entering the Timmelsjoch pass almost immediately and at its summit, crossing in to Italy. Please note there is a toll at the summit. It really is all about the stunning scenery today as we follow on to the beautiful Jaufenpass and then the Brenner pass, leaving Italy behind us and crossing back in to Austria. From Innsbruck we head North for Germany and the stunning Bavaria region. Our destination for the next two days is Garmisch Partenkirchen famous for holding the 1936 Winter Olympics.

Our 4* hotel is centrally located in Garmisch, allowing us easy access to the town without having to move the bikes from the security of the hotel parking.

Day 7:

Day two in Garmisch can be spent sight seeing in the town or visiting the Zugspitse (Germany’s highest mountain) or riding out and exploring locally in the area. On Saturday evening you may choose to eat at the hotel or spend a second night in the town at the bars and restaurants. There are such a wide choice here, these can be totally different to Friday night and Garmisch can cater for everyone’s requirements.

Day 8:

Today we leave Garmisch behind and journey North, travelling out of Bavaria on local routes before picking up the motorway and heading towards Stuttgart. It is primarily motorway miles today, although we will break this up to the north of Karlsruhe. Our family run hotel for the evening is set in the Saarland region and has been used by Missed Adventures over the past 5 years.

Day 9:

Travelling north this this morning and on in to Belgium, we leave the motorway and use national routes on the ride up towards Mons. We rejoin the motorway to the west of Mons and head towards the French border and our final overnight hotel located in Lille. There is the choice if required on this trip to use the Newcastle to Ijmuiden and return ferries as people have opted for previously. (note: the pricing listed is for Eurotunnel return only – Please call us if you require more details for the Ferry crossing)

Day 10:

Using the main motorway network this morning we travel up towards Calais for our return Eurotunnel crossing.
At the end of an excellent tour, with some fabulous memories, which will be your favourite?
